About Chico Museum
Housed in the former Carnegie Library building in downtown Chico, the Chico Museum has hosted more than 90 exhibits celebrating the distinct heritage of Chico since it opened in February 1986. Exhibits change several times a year and include prestigious traveling exhibits as well as those created by the Museum focusing on local Chico and Butte County history.

The Museum’s two main galleries feature changing exhibits focusing on aspects of Chico’s past and present. Two smaller galleries house a permanent Chico Timeline 1830 – 2000 filled with photos, portraits, and artifacts evoking Chico’s diverse history and Chico’s Chinese Taoist Temple which features altars and original artifacts from this temple used by Chico’s Chinese residents from 1890 – 1939.
The Chico Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 12am to 4pm.

What a great website! Love the slide show of the MNO.
Why haven’t you provided the planned events and times for the Museum’s Opening on Feb. 27-28???
As far as we know, the actual opening date for the next exhibit hasn’t been set. As soon as it is, I’m sure the opening receptions and exhibit dates will be posted here.
Thought you might want to change the times the museum is open to “12pm to 4pm”. I don’t think you want people there just after midnight.
